So, we discussed the history of how Israel was formed in the previous newsletter. It changes quite a few things regarding how we view Palestine and Israel and I will be going into the details of it in my next newsletter. I wanted to do it with this one, but I have realized that there is a much more important issue to be addressed, namely, the hospital massacre and the claims and denials regarding it.
For the uninitiated, Israel attacked Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza on 17th October, which killed at least 500 and possibly 1000 Palestinians. This caused a lot of backlash across the world and Israel denied these attacks and blamed Hamas or other parties, but multiple proofs suggest that it is them who did it. Here is a summary of all this:
The Al Ahli Hospital was warned to evacuate a few days before the bombing happened (never mind the impossibility of evacuating hundreds of patients with negligible supplies and nowhere to go)
There is a deleted tweet by Israel that talks about how they bombed this hospital to kill Hamas terrorists. They took down that tweet as soon as photos of killed civilians started coming out
Regarding Hamas or the Islamic Jihad being behind this, and it being a failed rocket, military veterans have identified the sounds this blast made as being from an American missile. Israel showed a sound clip of Hamas and a video of a failed rocket as well, one of which has been proven fake while the other is a much earlier clip
Regarding Israel’s claims that they don’t attack civilian places like hospitals, they have already warned another hospital to evacuate after this attack happened and bombed a church, the oldest church in Gaza, and both of this happened after the Al Ahli Hospital attack
This is not even mentioning the other places they attacked earlier, such as a mosque, UNRWA shelter (which is also a school), and the Rafah border to the south where they actually instructed the Palestinian civilians to evacuate to
And again, this does not mention the many times that they have attacked these places in the past, when there was no ‘war’ going on between them and Hamas. Here’s a quick reel that shows some of these attacks:
Lastly, here are two videos that debunk Israel’s claims and elaborate on what I mentioned above
In short, this seems like another instance of Israel trying to spread fake news about what’s really happening, with the majority of western countries and media continuing to support them. It is very similar to their earlier allegations of Hamas killing 40 babies, which was later proved to be false and was retracted by Israel itself. I wasn’t following everything so closely back then so I don’t know what proofs Israel did or did not provide for that, but I will definitely look into it and comment on it in a future newsletter.
